UPSR
Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) is known as a national examination taken by all students in Malaysia at the end of their sixth year in primary school before they further their studies in secondary school. The UPSR tests also were established in 1988 to replace the Standard Five assessment. There are five subjects included in UPSR which are Bahasa Melayu Pemahaman, Bahasa Melayu Penulisan, English, Mathematics, and Science. In 2016, English paper was separated into two different papers which are Comprehension Paper and Writing Paper. Additionally, I would like to clarify that I was a candidate for Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) in 2014 and I felt grateful that I got 3A 2B which can be considered as the outstanding achievement I have ever got in my life. With this result, I was able to further my studies in the secondary school and the journey of me as a student is continuing.
PT3
Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3) is known as a school-based assessment that is used to evaluate the academic performance of the students at the lower-secondary level in Malaysia. PT3 was first introduced in 2014 to replace Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) that was abolished on that year. The core subjects that were taken in this exam are Bahasa Melayu, Bahasa Melayu (Lisan), Bahasa Inggeris, Bahasa Inggeris (Lisan), History, Geography, Pendidikan Islam, Mathematics, Science, and Kemahiran Hidup Bersepadu. In 2017, I was a candidate for PT3 and I got 7A 1B 1D 1E which I considered as the best result, yet, I still need to do some improvements in mastering certain subjects such as Mathematics and Science. Fortunately, I got a chance to go for Science stream in Form 4 that required me to learn critical subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Additional Mathematics. On the bright side, I see this as the challenge for me as I know my own limits and it makes me realize that it is okay to try something new even though you have to deal with many difficulties in life. In June 2022, Education Minister, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin announced that there will be no more PT3 from this year onwards.
SPM
Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) is known as national examination in Malaysia taken by all students at the end of their fifth year in secondary school before they further studies in foundation, STPM, matriculation or diploma. The mandatory subjects were taken in this test are Bahasa Melayu, English, Pendidikan Islam (compulsory for all Muslim students), Pendidikan Moral (compulsory all non-Muslim students), History, Mathematics, and Science. The students also were required to take elective subjects such as Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. In 2019, I was a candidate to sit for SPM and I feel grateful that I passed in all subjects taken, allowing me to further my studies in foundation. I got 4A in SPM and I am glad to mention that this is also my first time getting A in Mathematics subject. I consider Mathematics and Additional Mathematics as the hardest subject back then but I am grateful that I did not fail in both subjects for SPM. Therefore, it marked as the end of my journey as high school student for almost 11 years.
